According to its commitment to make all its products recyclable or reusable by 2025, Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance is working on innovative low-impact packaging concepts. Tackling the matter of reusability, the company launched at Luxe Pack Monaco 2022 TWIRL, a refillable cosmetic jar made of PP and PET providing an intuitive gesture for an easy refill process and reducing its environmental impact by 53% after two refills as the energy needed to manufacture the packaging as well as the waste produced are both lowered. At this year's edition, the Cosmetics & Fragrance team will introduce an entire TWIRL range: in addition to the 50 ml standard, the jar will be also available in 15 ml, 30 ml oder even 200 ml to address all types of formula and different skin care & hair care applications. The TWIRL design is particularly well suited to body scrubs, body and face creams as well as hair masks which demand is expected to grow in the coming years.
Aline Roland, Marketing Director at Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance explains: "Reusability is key to achieve circularity in packaging and a priority in our product development. But in order to further drive the adoption of refillable solutions by consumers in their daily lives, our role is to make it really simple and intuitive while offering brands maximum customisation possibilities. That is the concept behind TWIRL".
The jar was therefore designed for both prestige and masstige beauty brands, offering them a great deal of freedom in the design of their formula. The shape of the cup and the materials making up the base are fully customisable in colours, finishes and decorations.
To illustrate these possibilities, a premium version of TWIRL will be unveiled at Luxe Pack, featuring Verescence's base made of glass and integrating 20% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) providing the jar a luxury touch.
