German tape manufacturer monta Klebebandwerk has added another innovation to their eco-friendly monta Greenline portfolio: a new paper adhesive tape with minimal material input, thanks to a smart, new product design. This approach boasts the tape’s sustainability credentials while maintaining the well-known reliability of monta products.
The strong paper backing is made from chlorine free (ECF) bleached pulp, originating from sustainable forestry, while its new, smoother surface structure allows for a more efficient production process. Coated with an optimized formula of natural rubber adhesive, monta’s new Greenline tape impresses with significantly enhanced immediate tack and adhesive strength. Applying just one layer of tape, it reliably seals light to medium heavy cardboard boxes, even those with high recycling content. It performs equally well for closing mailing bags, envelopes, pouches and cartons.
The eco-friendly allrounder
The new monta paper tape is a great alternative to conventional filmic tapes: its carrier material is free from silicone and synthetic plastics. What’s more, the tape does not interfere with the cardboard recycling process when left on the carton, making it a reliable and sustainable tape. Perfect for anyone preferring mono-material packaging solutions.
Handling and application is easy. The new paper tape unwinds smoothly with low noise, and despite its strength, can be torn by hand. An ideal choice where ergonomic working conditions are a priority. It can either be applied with the aid of a hand dispenser, on automated packing lines or simply by hand.
It is best used at room temperature and can withstand temperatures up to 60°C for short periods. Given its good weatherability and resistance to humidity, it opens up a multitude of possible applications.
