– ORBIS Europe, an international manufacturer of sustainable plastic transport packaging, has further expanded its business in the European market in 2023. “With our sustainable, durable and innovative solutions, we have our finger right on the pulse of the market,” says Jürgen Krahé, Senior Commercial Director EMEA at ORBIS Europe. “Our business has also developed positively in this economically challenging year. We have strengthened our business in the Industrial and Retail Supply Chain divisions, tapped into new sectors and acquired new customers in various industries.”ORBIS is part of the American, family-run manufacturing company Menasha Corporation, which is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year. ORBIS Europe, based in Hürth near Cologne, has been successfully representing its parent company on the European market for eight years.Global reach expanded and sustainability driven forward Last year, ORBIS was able to launch its products, which are already established in other markets within and outside of Europe, in additional geographical and vertical markets, particularly in Eastern and Southern Europe. The company has further expanded its product portfolio in the hazardous goods sector. The manufacturer was also able to increase the proportion of recycled materials in the HDB large load carrier (1200 x 1000 mm) from 71 percent to over 80 percent. Krahé: “What drives us is offering our customers sustainable and durable solutions for their supply chain. Our aim is therefore to get the best out of our products and, where it makes sense, to continuously optimize the material composition from a sustainability perspective.”Certifications and quality processes expanded After successfully completing the ISO 9001 certification process in 2021 to ensure consistently high quality standards across locations and countries, ORBIS was able to expand further and improve its quality processes even more last year: The European Packaging Distribution Center in Belgium has been certified for dangerous goods since 2023. ORBIS has also optimized its processes in the areas of organizational development and human resources and redesigned various jobs or expanded the scope of their functions, for example in project management and customer service. Continued focus on product expansion and customer service The company plans to expand its product portfolio even further in 2024. In addition, the establishment of a “European Customer Service Center” is planned. Krahé: “We want to offer our customers even faster routes and shorter response times, so as to provide them with the best possible support. To this end, we are also strengthening our service team. We are also planning to shorten the lead times for products even more.”Continuing our growth trajectory This is not the only reason why all signs point to growth in 2024. “Our employees are our greatest asset. We will therefore not only expand our team, but also train and develop our existing employees. In this way, we will be able to offer our customers ever more optimized solutions and services, drive the issue of sustainability even further forward in the market and continue to successfully expand our business,” says Krahé.
