Markem-Imaje, the global provider of end-to-end supply chain solutions and industrial marking and coding systems, will be presenting its innovative cosmetics supply chain solutions at this year’s Cosmopack in Bologna, Italy, from 21-23 March.
Markem-Imaje has decades of experience developing hardware that produces exceptionally high-quality coding on the varied packaging used across the cosmetics segment, and software* matching traceability and brand protection demands. The company will present a range of dedicated solutions ideal for todays’ demand for both 1 and 2d codes. The solutions are based on different printing technologies, from laser to continuous inkjet, and from print and apply to thermal transfer.
The Markem-Imaje booth will showcase its recent eTouch-S© applicator for the 2200 Series Print and Apply system, as a response to customer demand for reduced environmental impact and greater safety. With its built-in AI guaranteeing precision at the highest production speeds, the eTouch-S© has been awarded for its innovation. The 2200 fulfils complex labeling requirements at high-quality and at speeds of over 150 products per minute.
We will also show our latest Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) printer, the 9750, which usher in the next generation of printers capable of powerful traceability coding, including text messages of up to five lines, logos and high resolution 1D and 2D codes, on all packaging types. The 9750 is compatible with a range of rigorously developed ink formulations, including a large MEK-free ink portfolio that helps reduce consumable consumption and Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions by up to 50%.
Another highlight at our stand will be the SmartDate® X65 from the SmartDate® Series of thermal transfer overprinters (TTO), a technology especially designed for flexible film coding. The range provides the most reliable high-quality codes on flow-wrappers, bags, tray seals, pouches, sachets, vacuum packs or labels. Markem-Imaje recently released a new grade of resin thermal transfer ribbon for the SmartDate® for use on newer recyclable paper-based substrates and flexible film packaging.
In the fast-growing area of laser printing which is good on multiple packaging materials, including plastics and glass, we will show the SmartLase C350 CO2 laser that produces high quality codes including in 2D with up to 150,000 products labelled per hour, 30% faster than other lasers.
“Cosmetics manufacturers must be able to trace their products throughout the supply chain, to minimize the impact of a product recall if necessary, and also to guarantee authenticity,” says Massimo Cavazzini, Sales Manager at Markem-Imaje Italy says: “It is now paramount that cosmetics are coded and labeled correctly upon packaging with a technology guaranteeing print durability.”
Cosmopack is the leading international event entirely dedicated to the complete supply chain of the cosmetics industry: Ingredients and raw materials, contract manufacturing and private label, packaging, applicators, machinery, automation and full-service solutions.
