TrayRevive is a part of AMB's sustainable strategy to improve packaging recyclability and circularity. Thanks to the reuse in our film production of post-consumer PET trays, that can be brought back into the loop time and time again, AMB TrayRevive is a key component of the company's all-in-one approach and end-to-end sustainability drive to deliver safe, protective, and fully recyclable food packaging to the market. We are not just fully committed to the circular economy but also to minimizing the overall use of resources and the production of waste.
Being proactive in packaging circularity is crucial, and with our tray-to-tray recycling initiative (Tray Revive), we have started to develop the PET trays' recyclability, boosting a demand for this valuable secondary raw material. The use of post-consumer trays is part of our commitment to use at least 30% recycled content until 2025 and 50% by 2030.
AMB TrayRevive is focused on improving collaboration and cooperation among all AMB stakeholders with the goal of developing and improving the right actions and infrastructure for sustainable and recycling packaging that works. To maximize communication and traceability of TrayRevive's closed-loop system, we use blockchain technology as an innovative, sustainable, and digitalization instrument to improve the digital product passport of food tray packaging.
Behind this complex blockchain technology, there is the possibility for all players in the tray packaging supply chain to easily access unchangeable and transparent information regarding the production and origin of the raw materials used. The aim is to communicate the plastic recycling content to the end consumer in a transparent way and facilitate the collection, sorting, and recycling of tray-to-tray closed-loop actions.
