As a leading producer of secondary packaging handles, they utilise 100% recycled HDPE sourced from plastic waste to produce all their packaging solutions and have been doing so for over 10 years.
By using 100% recycled plastic, producing PakTech handles does not introduce new plastic to the world but keeps valuable material within the (circular) economy and out of the environment. Thanks to manufacturing with 100% recycled material, PakTech has kept over 46 million kgs of plastic waste out of landfills and waterways, equivalent to 160,336m2 of land saved from landfill waste.
In 2020, PakTech went a step further in the circular economy model when they launched their line of Pak-to-Pak handles. Made entirely out of used and recycled PakTech handles, they are third-life handles that perfectly embody the closed loop circular packaging cycle.
Not only are all PakTech handles fully recycled but also fully recyclable (and clearly labelled as such to ensure proper disposal by users) thanks to their mono-material form. A vast majority of the solutions offered are also reusable many times over, reducing the demand for single-use packaging. Meanwhile, attributes such as durability, flexibility, water- and heat-resistance along with a minimalist design that uses the least amount of material necessary contributes to reducing waste generation.
PakTech is committed to ensuring that handles are recycled at the end of their useful lives. That is why it is working with 632 businesses and partners across North America and some abroad through the PakTech recycling programme to ensure that as many PakTech handles as possible are recycled – a programme PakTech aims to introduce to new markets in the UK and Europe. It is also a founding member of the US Plastics Pact, which places industry collaboration at the forefront of creating a solution-driven system for the use of plastics.
At PakTech, the circular economy is not a mere buzzword but a guiding principle that truly underpins all decisions made across the board.
