One of the leading global providers of sustainable fibre-based packaging’s UK sites has secured three wins at the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) Diamond European Awards and the UK Flexo Industry Association (FIA) Print Awards. DS Smith Livingston – which specialises in High Quality Post Print solutions - picked up the accolades for its work with several major UK and Irish based drinks brands.
DS Smith Livingston worked with Irish Distillers’ Jameson and other drinks brands on updating their packaging designs to award winning quality whilst keeping sustainability at the forefront. Each design was a Gold winner at the UK FIA Print Awards, which provides entry to the FTA Diamond European Awards, the grand prix of European print accolades which takes place every two years. All three designs were judged against all other European Gold winners, and secured additional awards:
- Diamond First – Distillers Post Print Uncoated
- Diamond Second – Whisky Corrugated Post Print Coated
- Diamond Third – Mixed 8 Pack Can Corrugated Post Print Coated
The wins come after years of development in print technology at the site, led by Paul O’Connor, Livingston Print Manager, and his team. As well as experts in print, Livingston are a large employer in the local area, with 166 employees at the site, the majority of whom live in the local area. The Livingston team regularly engage with local community activity as part of their commitment both to sustainability and community engagement.
As well as securing three significant wins at the FTA Diamond European Awards and UK FIA Print Awards, over the past three years, the site has undergone significant investment and introduced the latest printing technology to further underpin the quality and performance of the packaging produced.
