Emsur Saymopack has installed latest generation Esko equipment that will upgrade its flexo platemaking system at its Valencia plant. The official unveiling of the new Esko CDI Crystal 4835 XPS took place on 13 June and was attended by Daniel Carreño, CEO of Grupo Lantero and Jose Antonio Herráez, General Manager of Emsur.
This investment will not only improve the quality of Emsur's products but will also allow it to offer shorter lead times and greater flexibility to meet the needs of its customers.
The new installation allows the calibration of all print media without altering the daily workflow. This equipment includes the combination of CDI Crystal, XPS Crystal and Print Control Wizard, which provides the highest quality and consistency of plates in the industry.
Key benefits of the new Esko system include:
• Superior quality and consistency: The system ensures superior quality and exceptional plate consistency, even during long jobs and repetitions.
• High automation and efficiency: With a high level of automation, the new technology significantly improves production efficiency, reducing response times and allowing greater flexibility in the execution of highly demanding jobs.
• High-resolution images: Advanced technology enables clean gradient and higher contrast images, with fewer dot stitching and more robust dot brights. In addition, the ‘sharp edge’ characteristic of flexo is reduced or eliminated.
• Sustainability: The XPS Crystal flexo exposure unit has achieved certifications from GreenCircle, an internationally recognised external certification entity. In addition, Esko's XPS Crystal has achieved complete elimination of hazardous waste during its lifetime.
• International Recognition: The XPS Crystal display equipment has won the prestigious FTA award, and the CDI Crystal 5080 XPS won the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design in 2017.
José Herráez, General Director of Emsur, said: ‘This new facility is a testimony to our commitment to the Emsur Saymopack business, which is very committed to customer service, sustainability and innovation. The capacity to increase quality and consistency while improving lead times is a significant achievement. I am proud of the Emsur team for leading this project and look forward to seeing the benefits it will bring to our customers and the environment.
Olivier Gobin, Director of Emsur Saymopack, added: ‘The incorporation of this Esko equipment reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in our production processes. We are very pleased to see how this technology will further enhance our ability to deliver the highest quality products to our customers."
Alejandro García de Viedma, Technical Director of Emsur, commented: ‘This new system increases our response capacity, allowing us to be more flexible in the market and adapt to the changing needs of our customers. It is a big step forward for our Valencia plant.
