Labelexpo Europe, the world’s largest show for the label and package printing industry, will be held at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue from 16 – 19 September 2025. The event, which brings together more than 600 companies and 35,000 visitors from 140 countries, is moving from Brussels to Barcelona to enhance its potential for growth.
In September 2023, Labelexpo Europe, organised by Tarsus Group, now part of Informa PLC, held its last edition at Brussels Expo, its home for the last 38 years. Among other reasons, the change is due to its goal of furthering its expansion as the world’s leading event in the industry, which will, in turn, reinforce Fira de Barcelona’s position as a driving force behind major international events.
Thus, in Autumn 2025, the show, held every two years, will bring together at the Gran Via venue, the leading companies in the industry that produce labels, packaging and folding cartons, showcasing the latest technologies and innovations related to products, materials and machinery by means of live demonstrations and presentations with machines in operation.
Designers, suppliers to the industry and professionals from the world of packaging, printing and retail will meet at this event, which also organises professional master classes with experts who share their experiences and discuss the trends in the sector involving innovation, precision, quality and sustainability.
Constantí Serrallonga, the managing director of Fira de Barcelona, highlighted that “holding a flagship international fair in its field at our venue in the coming years will reinforce the institution’s strategic pledge to host major events with a global reach. “Besides, he added, “this is great news for the business fabric of the country, the city and the surrounding area, as its impact will generate excellent economic and technological opportunities”.
Labelexpo Global Series managing director Jade Grace said: “We are delighted to hold the next edition of Labelexpo Europe at the Fira de Barcelona. As a fantastic chapter closes at Brussels Expo, we look forward to the move to Barcelona. This move, we believe, will allow us to grow the show to the next level as we evolve further into a package printing event, although with labels at its core”. Continued Grace, “Fira’s commitment to green energy and sustainability makes it a great partner to help carry on our work in progressing the importance of sustainability as a key focus for the package printing industry”.
Strengthening its positioning
Labelexpo Europe will join the broad portfolio of major international events hosted and organised by Fira de Barcelona. In recent years, the institution, which holds over 250 events each year, has been chosen as the venue for ones of the magnitude of ISE, the world’s leading fair for the audiovisual industry, Seafood Expo Global, the largest event devoted to seafood, and ShopTalk Europe, the international benchmark for retail, which held its first edition in Barcelona in May. Moreover, this year it hosted the main pharmaceutical sector trade fair, CPHI Europe, as well as more than twenty congresses in the field of health at the Gran Via exhibition centre and the CCIB.
These events will accompany other major ones held at Fira’s venues, including MWC, Alimentaria, Automobile Barcelona, Barcelona Boat Show, Smart City Expo World Congress, Hispack, Sónar and IoT Solutions World Congress, among many others.
