Orlando-based commercial print provider, Xerographic Digital Printing, expanded its production capabilities with the installation of the HP Indigo 7K+ digital press in January 2026. Building on their experience as a beta customer for HP’s Indigo technology, they are now bringing the press into full production to support growing demand for premium print applications, personalized marketing materials, and commodity training materials.
Founded more than 35 years ago as a copy shop serving Orlando's legal sector, Xerographic Digital Printing has evolved to grow into a full-service commercial print provider, serving industries such as hospitality, tourism, and corporate events.
A key driver behind this growth has been Xerographic Digital Printing’s innovation-led approach. An early adopter, the company has continued to embrace new technologies to stay agile while maintaining customer service and quality standards that have defined the company.
For Xerographic Digital Printing, the answer has been to invest in the HP Indigo 7K+ digital press. Previously operating both an HP Indigo 12000 and an HP Indigo 5600 digital press, the company has installed the HP Indigo 7K+ to its production floor to support both high-volume commercial print work and premium applications from a single platform. This gives the company the flexibility to help customers bring increasingly ambitious projects to life while maintaining the responsiveness digital print makes possible.
The HP Indigo 7K+ combines offset-quality output with advanced digital capabilities, including variable data printing, short-run production, rapid job changeovers and support for specialty inks and embellishments. These capabilities allow Xerographic Digital Printing to produce highly personalized campaigns and event collateral without the lengthy setup times or minimum order requirements traditionally associated with conventional print production.
By combining premium print quality with shorter turnaround times, Xerographic Digital Printing is helping customers create more impactful campaigns while giving them greater flexibility to adapt content and meet tight deadlines.
A key benefit of the HP Indigo 7K+ press is the ECO Print Mode. This sustainable 4-color printing option uses a thinner layer of ink and requires less drying, helping reduce the carbon footprint of each job by 11 percent while improving production efficiency. Despite using less ink, ECO Print Mode delivers vibrant colours and premium image quality, so customers benefit from a more cost-effective solution without compromising the finished product. For many of the company's tourism projects, Xerographic has also found that ECO Print Mode produces a more natural color profile that better aligns with customer expectations. Following extensive testing, Xerographic expects ECO Print Mode to support approximately 40 percent of its production volume, delivering productivity gains, and enhancing overall operational performance.
"The HP Indigo 7K+ has been an excellent investment for our business because it gives us the flexibility to produce a much broader range of applications from a single press," said Richard Smith, Co-Founder, Xerographic Digital Printing. “We’re now able to achieve a wider color gamut, reproducing colors that simply weren't possible before and ultimately, opening up new creative opportunities for our customers. Whether we're producing high-volume training materials or premium hospitality applications, we can deliver the quality, consistency and creativity businesses are looking for."
Beyond expanding its application capabilities, the HP Indigo 7K+ has also introduced greater automation across Xerographic Digital Printing's production environment. Features such as Auto Alert Agent (AAA), an AI-based inspection system with an advanced detection algorithm, proactively detect potential print issues before they affect production, reducing operator subjectivity, minimizing reprints, and helping maintain consistent image quality by identifying artefacts early in the print process. Through HP Nio, the company also leverages real-time production data to benchmark operator productivity and develop tailored training programs informed by press performance data, helping drive continuous operational improvement.
"Xerographic Digital Printing has built its success on a willingness to evolve alongside its customers and the market," said Fernando Alperowitch, General Manager, HP Industrial Print, North America. "This investment strengthens its ability to take on new opportunities and expand into higher-value applications while maintaining the responsiveness that has defined the business for more than three decades."
The investment forms part of Xerographic Digital Printing's broader strategy to modernize its production environment and create a foundation for future growth. Alongside the HP Indigo 7K+, the company is evaluating opportunities to further automate workflows and improve operational visibility through HP Industrial Print Software and Solutions, viewing digital print as a key enabler of future growth
