To support manufacturers in turning sustainability into a commercial advantage, leading sustainability consultancy Tunley Environmental has partnered with MEPCA Magazine to deliver a free webinar titled “Sustainable Manufacturing that Pays Back”, taking place on Thursday 26th February 2025 at 3:00pm (GMT).
Manufacturing organisations are facing increasing pressure to reduce environmental impact while managing rising operational costs, supply chain disruption and tightening regulatory and customer expectations. While sustainability is often positioned as a compliance or reporting exercise, the greatest risks and opportunities frequently sit in early-stage design, procurement and delivery decisions.
This joint webinar will explore how manufacturers can improve sustainability performance while strengthening business outcomes by embedding sustainability into decision-making across the manufacturing lifecycle.
The session will cover:
- How early-stage design and procurement decisions drive long-term cost, carbon and operational constraints
- Where manufacturers unintentionally lose sustainability return on investment between design and delivery
- Why sustainability performance breaks down when ownership is fragmented across teams and supply chains
- What high-performing manufacturers do differently to turn sustainability into a competitive advantage
- How Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) and Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) can be used to support data-led, commercially sound decisions
The webinar will also feature an interactive Q&A session with sustainability experts from Tunley Environmental.
Commenting on the partnership, Senior Scientist and Carbon Co-Lead at Tunley Environmental, Dr Nathan Wood said: “The biggest sustainability impacts in manufacturing are rarely created on the factory floor. They’re determined much earlier through design, material and procurement decisions. Yet sustainability is still too often addressed after those choices are locked in. This webinar will show how embedding life cycle approaches, such as PCFs and LCAs, into early decision-making can improve both environmental performance and commercial outcomes, turning sustainability into a competitive advantage.”
A spokesperson from MEPCA Magazine added: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Tunley Environmental on this webinar. Manufacturers are navigating a complex mix of cost pressure, supply chain scrutiny and evolving sustainability expectations. We hope this webinar will help our audience understand how early-stage decisions can protect margins, manage risk and strengthen long-term competitiveness.”
Attendance is free, but advance registration is required.
