Trivium Packaging has been honoured with the Sustainability Award at the British Aerosol Manufacturing Association (BAMA) Awards 2025, recognising the company’s outstanding progress in its decarbonisation journey. Using its Sutton-in-Ashfield plant as a model for action, Trivium demonstrated measurable reductions in carbon emissions and practical initiatives that bring its global sustainability commitments to life.
Trivium’s sustainability strategy focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting circularity, and embedding environmental responsibility across all operations. The company’s Sutton-in-Ashfield site achieved a remarkable 46% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the previous year, driven by simple but effective measures such as live energy monitoring, waste reduction, and employee engagement through the “turn it off” campaign.
“At Trivium, we’re proving that sustainability isn’t just a corporate ambition, it’s a daily practice,” said Alice Bazzano, Sustainability Director at Trivium Packaging. “This award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our teams, who are driving measurable change at every level of our business. Our Sutton-in-Ashfield plant demonstrates how operational excellence and environmental action go hand in hand.”
The BAMA Sustainability Award recognises organisations that show leadership in sustainable manufacturing and innovation within the aerosol industry. Trivium’s holistic approach of translating corporate climate goals into action at its Sutton-in-Ashfield plant helped secure the top prize.
The Sutton-in-Ashfield team was also named Runner-up for Process Safety & Training Culture, emphasising Trivium’s commitment to a proactive, people-led safety culture that fosters continuous improvement.
This recognition accompanies a series of global sustainability achievements for Trivium in 2025, including maintaining its EcoVadis Platinum ranking for the fourth consecutive year as the first and only metal packaging company, earning a place on the CDP Climate A List for the second year in a row, and inclusion on the CDP Supplier Engagement Leaderboard for the third year. Trivium is also advancing circularity as a key lever in its decarbonisation strategy, with 47% of 2024 revenue coming from ecodesigned products, moving closer to its 2030 target of 50%. These innovations, such as increasing recycled content and lightweighting products, help to further reduce the carbon footprint of Trivium’s packaging. These milestones reflect Trivium’s steadfast dedication to transparency, innovation, and ongoing progress on its journey to net zero.
