Today, the first companies of 2025, including Boden, Nobis, Native Shoes, Bobo Choses, Finisterre, SMCP, and moodytiger have pledged to eliminate the use of Ancient and Endangered Forests in their textile and paper packaging supply chains, and joined solutions-driven non-profit Canopy’s CanopyStyle and Pack4Good initiatives. This bold commitment underscores growing sector dedication to protecting climate-critical forests and global biodiversity.
They are joined by Next Gen innovators Circulose, Palouse Fiber Packaging, and Medoola, forward-thinking companies making packaging or viscose out of clothing waste, wheat straw, and food waste, respectively.
This cohort of companies is rounded out by paper packaging producer, Checkpoint Systems.
As part of their CanopyStyle and Pack4Good policies, these companies are committed to shifting their sourcing toward lower-impact, low-carbon, and circular Next Gen alternatives — such as recycled textiles and agricultural residues — to address the environmental impact of their operations. By rethinking supply chains, they are driving systemic change in the fashion and packaging industries.
The addition of these companies brings the CanopyStyle initiative to 578 brands representing a collective 1.646 trillion trillion USD in annual revenue, and Pack4Good has reached 466 brands worth more than 341.4 billionbillion USD.
This announcement comes at a pivotal moment, with demand for man-made cellulosic fibre (MMCF) textiles and paper packaging surging. Over 3.4 billion trees are logged annually for packaging and fabrics like viscose. Scaling low-impact Next Gen solutions builds resilient supply chains for businesses and alleviates the pressure on forests. Protecting forests is one of the fastest, most cost-effective strategies for combating climate change, preserving biodiversity, and safeguarding our shared future.
