Stag Print is a family-owned business based in Guildford, Surrey. Founded in 1979 by Rajendra Patel it has just celebrated 45 years. Rajendra’s son Sushil Patel joined the business in 2013 as managing director following a career at KPMG in transactions and strategy consulting. Under his direction, Stag Print has modernised and expanded its customer base and reach. The company produces an array of printed product packaging such as boxes and sleeves for consumer products, and marketing print such as brochures and leaflets for educational establishments and medium-sized businesses. It also provides printing services for other printing companies seeking experience and expertise in high quality higher volume print jobs.
Stag Print may be a smaller business, but we are big on sustainability, which is why we choose upcycled machinery rather than new. Better for us, better for our customers, and better for the planet.
So being clean and green is our mantra. It’s everyone’s responsibility to move towards being more sustainable, and there is no other form of packaging that’s more sustainable than folding carton boxes. The material is recyclable and biodegradable and the machinery we use to produce it is the most energy efficient available. Which led us to apply for and successfully receive Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certification last year.
And our recent upcycled machine purchases speak for themselves…

Polar guillotine machine A real workhorse!
The guillotine is much used so its efficiency features, which have increased our cutting productivity by 20%, are absolutely essential. The machine has clever automation features and is fitted with modern motors that consume a lot less power than its predecessor.
Heidelberg die-cutting machine
Another essential tool. This handles a much larger sheet and runs 30% faster. The machine’s original chassis was built in 1962, and was fully rebuilt prior to installation. The retro looking machine has been kitted with modern safety features and rivals any new machine on speed and quality of production.
Why buy new when you can rebuild at a fraction of the carbon footprint? And with their upgrades, these machines save the business energy and time.
