SPS Pouches has been announced as an Agenda Partner for the Packaging News Sustainability & Impact Summit and Awards 2026, with the company set to contribute to the event’s discussion around recycling infrastructure, waste systems and local authority alignment.
As part of the summit agenda, SPS Pouches Director, Elliot Hyams, will join representatives from OPRL, SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK and Biffa for a panel covering UK capacity gaps, investment priorities, consistent collections, public behaviour change, contamination, difficult formats and the challenge of aligning brand ambition with council realities.
The partnership reflects SPS Pouches’ wider focus on helping brands prepare for the next phase of flexible packaging. As EPR, PPWR, RAM and recycling infrastructure continue to develop, packaging decisions are becoming more closely linked to material choice, sortability, recyclability and long-term commercial planning.
SPS Pouches has recently explored these issues through its work on recyclable mono-material pouch structures and MRF testing at Sherbourne Recycling, where different pouch formats were assessed against real sorting infrastructure.
The company says the key issue for brands is no longer simply whether a pouch can carry a recycling claim, but whether the full pack has been designed around the realities of collection, sortation and reprocessing.
