This SecurityLabel is made of paper! It provides distinct tamper evidence against criminal and fraudulent attempts to open and reclose packaging. It has been designed to securely seal shipping cartons and boxes, containing valuable goods, such as technical devices and parts or medicinal products.
This Paper SecurityLabel is suitable for all industries and products where paper-based, cardboard-based, and corrugated packaging is used. To provide a recyclable label, recycling guides have been taken under consideration already in the development phase. "ONE PACKAGING - ONE MATERIAL" If the sustainable packaging and the recyclable labels consist of the same material, they can be recycled together. Thus, a positive impact on the circular economy is created.
Security labels have the important function to protect products and brands from counterfeiting, tampering, and unauthorized distribution. In this regard, there is a large number of security features that are used to make a security label tamper-evident. Although we always focus on the highest protection of the individual product, we see it as our task to also contribute to environmental protection.
Thus, we created this paper security label. In this way, the recycling process for cardboard and paper packaging can be optimized by using only one packaging material.
According to PTS the recyclability of this type of paper-based security seal is 86,6%. Considering that a security label consists of a variety of inks and adhesive, this is a good result which enables the label to be recycled together with the box.
PAPER-BASED VOID TECHNOLOGY
When peeling off the label as a user, a clear separation effect provides the proof of opening, as the word VOID is revealed both on the outside of the label and on the inks left behind after peeling. This effect remains visible even when the label is reapplied.
In addition, tampering becomes visible by curling and deforming of the paper, tearing and discoloration. The fragile properties of paper make it difficult to remove the label unnoticed with sharp objects.
In addition, this label is equipped with a wide range of security colors and a security hologram.
Thus, it indicates all types of fraudulent tampering, e.g. by water, heat or cold spray.
Counterfeiters often try to harvest security labels by using heat or cold to remove them intact from authentic products. To avoid tampering by temperature, we used thermosensitive inks. If the label is manipulated with heat, an intense orange-red indication appears. When the label is tampered with cold, the indication turns blue. This is also an important feature when it comes to products that are adversely affected by temperature deviations during transport or storage.
Liquids are also popular with counterfeiters. Thus, an anti-wash technology has been integrated into the label in the form of a blue bar. If a fraudster tries to remove the label with liquids, the blue color fades and is transferred to the packaging. The appearance of the label thus changes clearly.
