AeroFlexx is a flexible liquid packaging innovation with eco-friendly and user-friendly features to encourage eco-consciousness. We work to build solutions that empower businesses and consumers to implement the eco-friendly into the everyday, effortlessly.
AeroFlexx focuses on full recyclability and developing packaging innovations facilitating the recycling effort for a circular future. The package is engineered with an airframe technology, meaning it uses air – not plastic – to create a revolutionary structure that maintains shape without compromising structural rigidity as it remains flexible, preserving performance. Low-plastic and low-impact material is the bread and butter for lowering plastic production. This approach lessens plastic content to curb plastic pollution.
At the center of AeroFlexx’s innovation is source reduction. AeroFlexx has managed to develop a flexible, lightweight packaging technology without compromising the durability or functionality of the packaging itself.
Source reduction is one of the most immediate and impactful strategies to lower waste at the source, minimizing waste-to-landfill potential. With manufacturing based in source reduction, the production process uses less energy from start to finish and implements circular recyclability throughout the packaging lifecycle. The company is driving circular recycling initiatives to curb plastic content at the source. This approach not only can combat plastic pollution but also ensures all materials used in the packaging contribute to the circular economy, shrinking the packaging footprint.
Compact construction is another strategy for AeroFlexx’s packaging solution. As stated by AeroFlexx CEO, Andy Meyer, 'Our commitment to a circular economy is to proactively engage the industry to create an ecosystem whereby no package ends up in the environment.' Our commitment to environmental innovation is captured in these four words: 'Think outside the bottle.'
AeroFlexx is comprised of 85% less virgin plastic than traditional bottles – this is made possible by containing up to 70% less plastic at the source and incorporating up to 50% recycled content. Our goal is to reach 100% when new flexible materials emerge – these haven’t been invented yet today. Translating to the level of sustainability, with just 2.5B units of market adoption, the package would save 599.4 million kilowatt-hours of energy and 65.3 million gallons of gas. Furthermore, CO2 emissions would be reduced by 256.8 million pounds, and landfills would be spared from 980.8 million pounds of waste. Additionally, AeroFlexx is curbside recyclable where all plastic bottles are accepted.
AeroFlexx packaging is one of the first to gain the designation of 'Made for Recycling.' AeroFlexx was awarded this seal by Interseroh for multiple countries in Europe that offer recycling for rigid polyethylene packaging, meaning consumers have the convenience of recycling AeroFlexx packages just like other widely recycled polyethylene (PE) bottles. In addition, AeroFlexx can feature the On-Pack Recycling Label (OPRL) as both HDPE natural and opaque NIR detectable to offer a simple and consistent recycling message and direction.
AeroFlexx is shaping liquid packaging by bridging packaging sustainability with the needs of the modern world, advancing eco-friendly packaging while incorporating strategies for sustainability to support environmental efforts.
