Large and bulky packaging presents a particular challenge throughout the logistics process. Products such as shower enclosures, furniture, industrial components or other sensitive goods can be difficult to carry and manoeuvre, while improper handling can quickly result in damage to both the packaging and its contents.
E-K-S addresses this challenge with dedicated loop handle solutions designed to improve the handling of large cardboard packaging while providing packaging designers with different options depending on the application.
The EKS 885.0 and EKS 889.7 loop handles have both been developed for carrying and laterally pulling bulky packages and can withstand loads of up to 75 kg. A robust plastic plate with sturdy barbs anchors the handles securely within the cardboard wall, helping to create a reliable connection between the handle and the packaging.
While both solutions serve the same fundamental purpose, their different designs allow manufacturers to select the configuration that best suits their packaging concept.
The EKS 885.0 features a flexible textile loop and can be mounted either on the side or on the top of a box. The EKS 889.7 uses a preformed plastic loop, providing easy hand access, and can be installed with the loop either hanging or upright.
For companies handling sensitive and bulky products, seemingly small packaging components can have a direct influence on day-to-day logistics.
