The company is continuously working to make not only its products but also all its processes more sustainable. With a holistic approach and a clear ESG strategy, Sihl is pursuing the goal of creating a “grandchild-friendly” and livable future for coming generations. Two recent milestones impressively underscore this claim: the EcoVadis Gold Medal and the nomination as a finalist for the German Sustainability Award 2026.
With its EcoVadis gold medal, Sihl ranks among the top 5% of companies assessed worldwide. This award recognises not only the quality of its sustainability management, but also the transparent and responsible design of its entire value chain. With great commitment and passion, Sihl continuously drives sustainable innovation forward – from PFAS-free membranes and recyclable labels to monomaterial stand-up pouches.
Another highlight is the company‘s participation in the finals of the renowned German Sustainability Award. Following its successful nomination in 2024 in the “Products” category with its recyclable GreenGrafX Photo Paper, Sihl is represented this year in the ‘Companies’ category for the “Paper, Cardboard, Paperboard” industry. The expert jury is thus honoring the holistic approach to sustainable transformation, which goes far beyond individual products and shapes the entire corporate strategy.
Long-term success thanks to ESG strategy
Agnes Dittmar, ESG Manager at Sihl, emphasises: “We take responsibility for people and the environment. We see this as our obligation and as a prerequisite for long-term success. Sustainability is a guiding principle and a driver of innovation for us. We don‘t just make products, we create innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers.”
