US Consumers want tamper-evident and secure packaging
New Selig Group research, released at PackExpo and conducted by NSM Research Inc. through U.S. focus groups,[i] reveals that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to shape consumer packaging expectations. The results show that there has been a significant rise in demand for tamper-evident and secure packaging, with four times more consumers now prioritizing packaging security compared to pre-pandemic trends. The research also looked at consumers’ opinions of Selig’s Lift 'n' Peel™ liner, which showed that four out of five participants would choose products with Lift 'n' Peel™ over traditional non-tabbed seals.
David Griffin, VP of Global Sales and Marketing at Selig Group comments: “PackExpo is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase to the industry the ways we can support their business goals, and specifically their sustainability goals, with our product solutions. We are proud to introduce Lift 'n' Peel™ Lite along with several other new products, many of which have been designed with sustainability in mind. We are also excited to share the results of our independent consumer research study which highlights the growing expectation among consumers that their packages have an easy-to-open safety seal.”
