Saica Group, a leader in sustainable paper, packaging and waste management solutions, is continuing to invest in the future of customer-focused packaging solutions with the commissioning of its third fully automated rotary die cutter at its Ashbourne facility.
The recent rotary die cutter investment marks another significant milestone in Saica’s ongoing commitment to supporting customers across the Irish market and meeting growing demand for efficient, automated packaging solutions.
Equipped with advanced, high-performance technology to support the high-speed production of reliable, efficient, and fit-for-purpose corrugated packaging solutions, the state-of-the-art rotary will boost production at Saica’s Ashbourne site. The new equipment will allow for a significant increase in output from the plant, further enhancing Saica's ability to respond to evolving customer requirements while delivering quality, service, and innovation.

Ciaran Rodgers, Regional Director Ireland for Saica Pack, said:
“I am pleased that Saica continues to invest strongly in Ireland, supporting our market growth and enabling us to meet our customers’ increasing need for effective fit-for-purpose packaging solutions. This demand is being further accelerated by the implementation of EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), and the increase in automated packing lines, making our investment key in ensuring we are well positioned to support customers through that transition.”
“This project is transformational for our Ashbourne plant and builds on the significant investment we have delivered over recent years both at this site and our other Irish plants. Saica’s strategic plans for the region remains on track, with the machine beginning production in September 2026. We look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have for our customers during the remainder of 2026,” he added.
The investment is part of Saica’s long-term strategic growth plans for Ireland, reinforcing the company’s position as the leading provider of corrugated packaging solutions in the country.
Steven Cassidy, Ireland Sales and Marketing Director, added:
“As the leading corrugated packaging producer in Ireland, this next stage of our strategic investment plan will help us continue to provide excellent service, quality, and innovation for our customers. I am particularly looking forward to welcoming customers to our Ashbourne site on 15th October as part of our 21st Annual Customer Product Knowledge course, where they will be able to see first-hand the scale of our investment and the benefits it will bring, to all of our customers.”
