As one of the first specialized providers for PPWR compliance, PackIntelX offers a market-ready platform for the structured collection of packaging data and the automated generation of Technical Documentation and EU Declarations of Conformity under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
Mainz, February 24, 2026 – With the deadline of 12 August 2026, a new regulatory reality begins for brand owners and packaging producers: every single packaging unit placed on the EU market must be supported by a legally valid EU Declaration of Conformity in accordance with the PPWR – including complete Technical Documentation. Without this documentation, packaging may no longer be placed on the EU market.
What appears to be a formal obligation on paper is proving to be a significant operational challenge in practice. The required conformity assessment procedure demands the systematic collection, validation and documentation of packaging data across the entire supply chain. Since a Declaration of Conformity must be issued for each individual packaging unit, many companies are facing a substantial administrative burden.
“The PPWR has an ambitious objective: strengthening the European circular economy. But in the short term, the focus for companies is clearly on data management,” explains Siddharth Bagri, Managing Director of PackIntelX. “Companies with extensive product portfolios may be dealing with more than 1,000 packaging units and several hundred suppliers. Data collection quickly becomes a major time and resource challenge.”
This is where PackIntelX comes in. The Mainz-based software and advisory company provides a digital platform that centralizes packaging data, structures and validates it, and documents it in an audit-proof manner while bringing together all data providers and relevant stakeholders on one shared system. Companies can integrate data via Excel import or API interface, systematically involve suppliers, and automatically generate and manage Technical Documentation and EU Declarations of Conformity.
The platform is designed as a comprehensive solution for the operational implementation of the PPWR – from role definition and data management to conformity assessment and recyclability analysis. Additional regulatory requirements, such as recyclability performance and minimum recycled content targets, will be integrated step by step, enabling companies to establish scalable, long-term digital compliance processes.
“The Declaration of Conformity is only the first operational milestone of the PPWR,” adds Siddharth Bagri. “With upcoming requirements on recyclability and recycled content, the regulation will fully unfold its impact on the circular economy. That is why we are continuously developing our platform to provide companies with a holistic and future-proof compliance solution.”
Companies seeking a practical insight into the solution can join the online summit “PPWR Implementation 2026 – The Brand Owner Perspective” on 24 March 2026 (13:00–17:00 CET). The event will demonstrate how companies can systematically structure their packaging portfolio, efficiently involve suppliers and establish a robust process for issuing EU Declarations of Conformity. https://packintelx.com/ppwr-summit/
