Polytag, the leading recycling tech company, has announced the appointment of two new executives to its C-suite.
Jonathan Anderson has joined as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Will Addy as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Together, they will play a crucial role in accelerating the company’s growth, which has gained significant momentum over the last year through numerous partnerships with leading brands and retailers across the UK and Europe.
Anderson, a seasoned technology leader with over a decade of IT experience, brings extensive expertise in scaling infrastructures, building high-performance teams, and driving innovation across industries. In his previous role at razorblue, he led research, development, and project management initiatives, working with clients in professional services and manufacturing.
As CTO, Anderson will spearhead the company’s technology strategy, focusing on the development and optimisation of the Polytag’s renowned Ecotrace Programme.
Addy joins Polytag with over 10 years’ experience in commercial strategy and business development, having achieved significant milestones such as landing businesses on the FTSE 250 list and most recently, sitting as Head of Sales at Sedex, a global leader in supply chain services and transparency. Addy has also worked with the likes of GlobalData, Hyve Group, and MetLife UK. His track record in scaling go-to-market strategies and building high-performance sales teams will be vital in expanding Polytag’s customer base as the demand for legislation-ready QR codes rises.
The appointments of Anderson and Addy strengthen Polytag’s position as the company seeks to accelerate its growth further, driven by a number of recent investment rounds and expanding partnerships across Europe.
Alice Rackley, CEO of Polytag, said: "Since Polytag began in 2017, we’ve been all about proving and solidifying our technology as a go-to-market choice for FMCG brands and retailers to track its packaging throughout the lifecycle. Our recent partnerships with the likes of M&S and Ocado demonstrate that our technology is able to make a difference, and we are ready to onboard new team members to continue moving in the right direction.
“Anderson and Addy’s combined expertise in supply chain and technology and business development will be instrumental in delivering fantastic client support to our current roster and opening the doors to new companies, retailers, and businesses looking to get future ready."
Jonathan Anderson, Chief Technology Officer at Polytag said: “It is an exciting time for Polytag as the company has recently gone from strength to strength. While QR codes continue to gain traction, a DRS is also on the horizon as a solution to improve packaging traceability. This places Polytag at the precipice of real change. I am ready to be on the team delivering a digital, data-first, and secure solution to the FMCG industry and wider supply chain as the industry looks to streamline and optimise processes.”
Will Addy, Chief Commercial Officer at Polytag, said: "Polytag is a unique business with a unique proposition, unlike something I have ever worked on before. Now is a key time for packaging and waste management industries to utilise data touchpoints from the supply chain to revolutionise recycling processes. I am privileged to have joined a brilliant, inspired team who are actively calling for change to promote the adoption of QR codes and push for new policies to modernise the waste management sector in the UK. There’s a lot of potential to make a difference, and I’m looking forward to working with industry and government partners to help modernise the UK’s waste management sector."
