Flexible packaging leader Parkside has positioned itself at the forefront of tobacco packaging after a series of strategic investments in its innovation capabilities and personnel, creating a new global tobacco team.
As the tobacco industry experiences an exciting period of innovation driven by a wave of next-generation products and reduced risk solutions, Parkside has the capacity and capability to support a wide range of tobacco formats with sustainable, high-performance flexible packaging.
Spearheaded by experienced tobacco industry specialist Laura Haggerty, Account Director and Sales Account Manager Tobacco, the new team includes members based at Parkside’s sites in both the UK and Malaysia, enabling it to better serve customers around the globe.
Laura said, “I am excited about the opportunity to lead and develop the tobacco sales strategy to drive an impactful change within the business.
“My immediate focus will be on deepening relationships with existing clients in the tobacco sector, identifying new growth opportunities, and ensuring our packaging solutions continue to exceed market expectations. I'm eager to contribute to the company's ongoing global success and ensure we lead the way in delivering exceptional solutions for the industry.”
Other team members include Eliska Dobson, Tobacco Account Manager, who is based in the UK, and Lu Chay Wang, the Malaysia-based New Business Development Manager, who will add his significant experience in the APAC tobacco industry to Parkside’s Asian operations.
Parkside specialises in a wide range of tobacco packaging formats, ranging from carton wraps to RYO pouches and stand-up pouches. Each format can be produced using different materials in line with a customer’s sustainability objectives, including foil laminates, PE, PET, PP, OPP, and paper-based materials, all of which can be tailored to deliver the required level of barrier performance.
Laura will be attending TabExpo in Geneva on 8-9 May, where she will be available to discuss the company’s core capabilities in more detail.
