Jürgen Krahé, Senior Commercial Director EMEA
ORBIS Europe, manufacturer of durable and sustainable plastic transport packaging, has successfully concluded the past fiscal year 2025. “The PPWR is placing even greater emphasis on the durability and sustainability of packaging. This confirms our strategic direction,” says Jürgen Krahé, Senior Commercial Director EMEA at ORBIS Europe. Last year, the company further expanded its market presence in Europe and made targeted investments in new product developments with optimized material composition.
Stronger presence in Italy, Scandinavia and Poland
In order to provide customers with even more targeted and faster support, ORBIS has further developed its local-to-local strategy. Following Italy, where ORBIS has been represented by Country Manager Nicola Corciulo since 2025, Eastern European countries will follow this year. “We will continue to focus more strongly on regional contacts and market-specific expertise in the future,” says Krahé. “This will enable us to understand customer requirements more quickly, provide more tailored support for projects, and take specific account of regional market conditions.” As part of its local-to-local strategy, the company already increased its participation in selected trade fairs last year, for example in Italy, Poland, and Sweden. ORBIS will also be represented at international trade fairs such as Cosmopack in Italy, Warsaw Pack in Poland, and Elmia Subcontractor in Sweden in 2026.
High technical and regulatory requirements met
In 2025, ORBIS Europe implemented several projects with increased safety and quality requirements. These included successfully implemented hazardous goods solutions, the recertification of the Ypres site in Belgium by the UN, and numerous customer-specific special designs. ORBIS users benefit economically from the long service life of the containers over several product cycles. The company also expects demand to rise in 2026, particularly from industries with high requirements for process reliability, quality, and compliance. Krahé: “Our customers consciously choose high-quality reusable packaging. Although the initial purchase costs are usually higher, the solutions are durable, reduce replacement purchases, and thus ensure a higher return on investment.”
To help people understand the PPWR, ORBIS Europe 2025 has teamed up with the consulting agency Pacoon to launch a series of webinars. More dates are planned for 2026 and will be announced in good time.
