Award-winning Certified B Corp. neat. is revolutionising personal care with the launch of its refillable Foaming Body Wash, a first-of-its-kind innovation in the UK. Known for its award winning, eco-conscious, refillable cleaning products and hand wash, neat. is bringing its sustainability mission into the beauty and personal care category, offering consumers a game-changing solution to single-use plastic waste.
With three indulgent fragrances—Mimosa Blossom & Neroli, Coconut & Vanilla Bean, and Hibiscus & Açai Berry—neat.'s Foaming Body Wash is designed to provide a luxurious, skin-friendly experience while dramatically reducing environmental impact.
"This launch is inspired by our customers, who have been asking for more sustainable solutions for their everyday lives," said Ryan McSorley, neat. co-founder and designer. "The body wash category is plagued by significant plastic waste and carbon emissions. We felt it was time to bring an innovative, truly sustainable alternative to the space."
Beauty Industry's Plastic Problem
The beauty and personal care industry generates over 120 billion units[1] of packaging annually, much of which ends up in landfills or oceans. Traditional body wash products often contain high percentages of water, increasing transport emissions and requiring large plastic containers. neat.'s refillable Foaming Body Wash delivers the same effectiveness while addressing these challenges head-on.
Small but Mighty: Sustainable Design at Its Best
neat.'s new body wash concentrate redefines efficiency and sustainability. Each 50ml concentrate transforms into 500ml of body wash, offering up to 55 washes per refill. This compact size drastically reduces transport emissions and storage space compared to conventional bottles. In fact, customers can store a 10-month supply of neat Foaming Body Wash in the same space as a single traditional shower gel bottle.
Key features include:
• Plastic-Free Packaging: The refill system eliminates the need for single-use plastic pouches or bottles.
• Naturally Derived Ingredients: Vegan friendly. The formula is free from SLS, SLES, parabens, silicones, and phthalates, incorporating skin-loving ingredients like aloe vera and nourishing waste by-products from the sugar beet industry.
• Dermatologist-Tested: Proven safe for sensitive skin and cruelty-free.
• Indulgent Daily Ritual: The rich foam creates a luxurious moment for the senses.
• Style meets sustainability: Our products are designed to fit beautifully into a modern home.
• Never tested on animals.
"With this product, we've achieved a step change in sustainability, combining thoughtful design with a powerful concentrate that delivers exceptional performance," said McSorley.
Available in x3 Mindful Fragrances:
Mimosa Blossom & Neroli: A botanical blend of sweet mimosa blossom and fresh citrusy neroli flowers
Hibiscus & Açai Berry: An invigorating blend of vibrant hibiscus flowers with uplifting açai berries.
Coconut & Vanilla Bean: The perfect tropical pairing of rich, creamy coconut with the light sweetness of vanilla bean.
Big Impact, Simple Choices
neat.'s mission is to make sustainable choices simpler by creating planet positive solutions that perform brilliantly. To date, neat.'s customers have helped prevent 170 tonnes of plastic waste—equivalent to 18 double-decker buses—from entering the environment. They've also saved 942,353 litres of water and taken 74 trucks off the road. This new body wash aims to amplify these benefits by offering an effective, eco-friendly solution for personal care.
"It's about behaviour change," McSorley added. "The more areas of life we can offer simple, sustainable alternatives, the bigger the collective impact we can make."
