The first Kolekt Exchange Certificate (KXC) has been issued in Mozambique, by the country’s largest recycler, and long-term Kolekt partner, Topack.
The unique Certificate is verified proof that Topack has purchased, processed and sold 247 tonnes of post-consumer PET. It is now available to buy, in full or part, in the Kolekt Exchange, launched in November 2025 by Kolekt. The innovative marketplace has already issued certificates in Indonesia and Nepal and is expected to soon offer certificates for Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Kenya, and Vietnam.
The Kolekt Exchange platform offers Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) producers in the country a traceable, cost-effective solution to meet the government’s impending Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulatory targets. It also offers FMCGs not based in Mozambique the opportunity to voluntarily take full responsibility for the collection and recycling of materials equivalent to those they place on the market in Mozambique or any other country where they sell goods, thereby reducing packaging waste.

The plastic collection certificate is now available for USD 150 per tonne. The buyer will receive proof of purchase, a PDF, and a QR code linked to the digital proof on the Kolekt Exchange, which can be used in company publications, brochures, or even on product packaging.
