For its Wallbox electric vehicle charger, electrical technology manufacturer Spelsberg uses compact sales packaging designed by STI Group that blends good looks with practicality and efficiency.
Spelberg, based in Schalksmühle, boasts over a century of expertise in the technology industry; the Wallbox for residential EV charging is the newest addition to its product range. This is accompanied by a new approach to packaging, which Spelsberg previously viewed as just a means to an end but now acknowledges is a powerful tool for driving consumer sales and loyalty. As a result, the company has a clear design focus for its plastic-free, monomaterial packaging, which fulfils the brief to present its contents attractively for physical stores and e-commerce while offering a highly practical solution for Wallbox installers.
Focus on functionality
The packaging’s structural design reflects the step-by-step installation process: from documentation to accessories to design cover, each component is packed so that it is removed in the right order, making the Wallbox quicker and easier to install. Ultra-compact, offering almost 100% space utilisation, the logistics-optimised packaging minimises both cost and environmental impact.
Unboxing with style
True to the saying ‘form follows function’, the clean look of the corrugated packaging is based on the minimalist Wallbox design and Spelsberg brand, setting the scene for a stylish and practical unboxing experience. The Wallbox has been available in German electrical wholesalers since October.
