Amica Chips was born to reflect the bond of friendship and the memories that make us smile: happiness, time spent together, and the joy of good company. It is that festive spirit that potato chips awaken in all of us with every crunch. Those same emotions continue to inspire the company every day. For its founder and staff, potato chips are just like friends: you can never have enough of them.
Says Oscar Moratti, Amica Chips’ General Manager: “My dad built Amica Chips in 1990. Over the years, we have always invested in innovation, and today we have a fully automated warehouse that holds more than 10,000 pallet spaces.”
For Markem-Imaje, being able to serve a company like Amica Chips is not just a business collaboration, it is a strategic responsibility and a great source of pride. For over twenty years, Markem-Imaje has been part of Amica Chips, with over a hundred printers installed. And thanks to the software CoLOS®, the marking process these days is fully automated and flawless.
“Today we have no recalls, we have no rework due to human error,” affirms Paolo Rizzardi, Production Manager at Amica Chips. “A product recall always leaves a bad impression with the customer.”
Markem-Imaje is the provider of choice for Amica Chips, not only thanks to the efficiency of the coding equipment and software solution, but also because of the assistance received during installations, as well as the top-notch after-sales service. The Italian snack giant has many projects in the definition phase, all of which have Markem-Imaje as their common denominator.
Massimiliano Scomparin, Account Manager at Markem-Imaje, highlights the excellent personal relationships as an essential success factor: “The collaboration with Amica Chips is a path made up of trust, constant presence and mutual growth. It is not just a matter of installing coding and traceability systems, it's about understanding the needs of a company that has transformed, expanded and faced new challenges and new markets over time.”
Over the years, that has meant the evolution, from the first thermal transfer overprinter (TTO) and print-and-apply units to the current CoLOS® platform and large character inkjet printers (such as the 5800 Series with Touch Dry® technology) as well as the most up-to-date TTO and continuous inkjet printer types.
Guido Torriglia, Sales Director at Markem-Imaje Italy, concludes: “Our goal is to contribute to our customers’ success by providing solutions that protect their brand, optimize processes, support their sustainability goals, and generate long-term value.”
With this ongoing and longstanding collaboration, it once more goes to show that Markem-Imaje’s end-to-end solutions turn coding responsibilities into an easy task for customers all over the world.
