The CHT Group has further embedded sustainability into its corporate management strategy during fiscal year 2025. The latest 2025 Sustainability Report highlights how environmental, economic and social objectives are increasingly being measured, integrated into decision-making processes and incorporated into product development.
A major achievement for the Group was the recognition of its innovative PIGMENTURA dyeing process with the German Sustainability Award 2026 in the product category. The technology combines resource efficiency with tangible customer benefits, demonstrating the CHT Group’s continued focus on sustainable innovation.
Independent assessments have also confirmed the company’s sustainability progress. With an EcoVadis score of 81 points and Gold status, the CHT Group ranks among the top five percent of companies in its industry worldwide. In addition, the company was recognised as a “Best Managed Company 2026” through a programme organised by Deloitte Private, UBS, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
Advancing Sustainability Management and Transparency
A key focus during 2025 was the continued development of the Group’s sustainability management framework. By aligning its reporting with the requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the CHT Group is improving the transparency and comparability of its sustainability performance.
The company also conducted a global climate and water risk analysis across all CHT sites worldwide, identifying measures to further reduce environmental risks.
Climate Protection Measures Across Global Operations
The CHT Group implemented several initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, including the transition to renewable electricity at sites in the United Kingdom, Brazil and Shanghai.
Additional measures include investment in the company’s own photovoltaic system in Torreón and the introduction of a biomass-based heating system at the Dußlingen site.
To increase transparency throughout the value chain, the CHT Group has also introduced automated Product Carbon Footprint calculations. This enables product-specific emissions to be analysed and reduced through targeted actions.
Social Responsibility and Living Wage Commitment
Progress has also been made in the social area. More than 95% of CHT employees worldwide currently receive compensation above the respective living wage level. The company aims to extend this commitment to all employees by 2030.
The developments achieved in 2025 demonstrate that sustainability at the CHT Group is becoming an increasingly measurable and manageable system. At the same time, sustainability continues to serve as a key driver of innovation, competitiveness and long-term business development.
