Mainetti, a global leader in sustainable packaging for the fashion retail industry, is enhancing its offering with a bold commercial strategy for paper hanging solutions. This includes new designs, rigorous quality testing and state-of-the-art production equipment, along with the inauguration of a new Design and Innovation Centre in Chester, UK. This commitment aims to enhance service for retailers and brands including new and existing paper hanging customers such as Tesco F&F, Gap, Old Navy, and Decathlon.
Mainetti’s growth strategy includes the integration of custom built, fully automated, high-speed production equipment into its operations in China, Bangladesh, and India with further plans to expand into new regions as global demand for paper hanging solutions continues to grow. The new machines are equipped with the latest technology and are expected to arrive between November of this year and February 2025. Their implementation will greatly enhance efficiency, increase output and allow Mainetti to expand its production of fully recyclable paper products.
Mainetti is set to unveil a Testing Centre of Excellence for paper hanging solutions, where each design will be tested to ensure it is fully functional and fit for purpose. This underscores Mainetti’s robust packaging portfolio and commitment to sustainability by offering retailers alternatives to single-use plastics.
To support this growth, Mainetti has appointed Gemma Ward as Global Director of Paper Hanging Solutions and Claire MacIntyre as Senior Commercial and Product Manager for the same division. Together, they will lead efforts to elevate the company’s paper hanging solutions business.
Gemma Ward is an industry expert with over 18 years in labelling as well as paper packaging and specifically paper hanging solutions. Ward’s strong strategic vision and successful track record in securing key partnerships across the UK, US, Europe and Asia brings invaluable market intelligence and energy to Mainetti. Her appointment to the leadership team reflects Mainetti's commitment to advancing its goal to become the global leader and preferred supplier in the category.
Commenting on the new role, Gemma Ward, Global Director of Paper Hanging Solutions, said, “I am extremely excited to join Mainetti as Global Director of Paper Hanging Solutions. This role offers a wonderful and unique opportunity to drive innovation and growth in an industry I am deeply passionate about. I look forward to working closely with the global team and leading Mainetti’s strategic growth plans in this product range. By utilising our expertise in design engineering, circular supply chains and stringent testing protocols, we will ensure our paper hanging solutions meet the highest standards for our global customers whilst furthering our commitment to sustainability.”
Claire MacIntyre also brings to Mainetti extensive experience across multiple product categories, having previously worked in buying offices for fashion retailers and brands such as Primark and Superdry. Most recently, she has partnered with well-known retail and brand clients to develop and launch their paper hanging programs.
In the coming months, Mainetti will announce further plans regarding the expansion of its supply chain to more locations to support its paper packaging and hanging solutions customers.
