M·CYCLOSE® rABS in a light grey with 96 % PCR content based on regrinds from white goods.
BIO-FED, a branch of AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH, presents M·CYCLOSE®, a new product line for recyclate solutions designed to support a more sustainable circular economy. The focus is on developing customized material solutions in close cooperation with customers.
With the introduction of M·CYCLOSE®, BIO-FED is setting a new standard for the development of recyclates by demonstrating how more sustainable and resource-optimised product solutions can be created in close collaboration with customers. In joint projects, BIO-FED develops customized recycling compounds tailored to meet customers' specific requirements. Be it for applications in packaging, household appliances, or consumer goods – M·CYCLOSE® recyclate solutions offer a convincing answer to the challenges of a functioning circular economy.
M·CYCLOSE® recyclates that are ready for use
In addition to the development of customized recycling solutions, the BIO-FED product range also includes M·CYCLOSE® recyclates that are ready-to-use and versatile. This enhances the capability of manufacturers and processors to easily enter the circular economy, enabling them to produce more sustainable components compared to those made from virgin materials. M·CYCLOSE® materials are available with a varying content of post-consumer recyclates.
M·CYCLOSE® UBQ product range
The M·CYCLOSE® UBQ product range provides more sustainable solutions for a wide range of non-food injection moulding applications. The specific sustainability aspect of this product range lies in the combination of various matrix polymers with a filler material produced by the company UBQ, which is made from recycled household waste. UBQ utilizes innovative and patented technology to transform household waste into a valuable raw material for plastics products. These compounds significantly contribute to conserving resources and reducing the carbon footprint of components. For some materials in this product line, a rPE that was recycled from used beverage cartons is being used as a matrix material.
The M·CYCLOSE® materials exhibit good processability. The improved rigidity makes the end products dimensionally stable, while the high impact resistance allows the material to be used in applications with increased mechanical requirements. All material variants have a greyish, natural look with visible fibre structures.
Additional M·CYCLOSE® products
The M·CYCLOSE® portfolio also includes various post-consumer-recycled compounds based on rABS, rPP, rPMMA, rPBT, or rPET. The particular focus for these grades is on the colouring of these materials according to the customer’s specifications. Even complex requirements, such as light colours or mechanical values in a similar range as virgin material, have been realized in various projects with well-known customers.
