With just over a week to go until the much-anticipated London Packaging Week, event organisers Easyfairs have confirmed that its flagship two-day exhibition looks set to be its most successful yet.
This year, the ExCeL will open its doors to thousands of brands – each looking to discover suppliers, products and knowledge to create the future of their next packaging innovation. And those looking to find their next packaging solution will certainly be in the right place – with every square foot of the world's most connected event venue being used to accommodate a capacity of 170 exhibitors.
"With just under a week to go, there is still time to secure your place at this leading event," said Marketing Manager Naomi Stewart. "From the quality of the exhibitors through to the droves of people heading to the ExCeL, this year's event genuinely has all the hallmarks of something special."
Easyfairs has already confirmed London Packaging Week will be one of Easyfairs' most sustainable exhibitions, with a broad range of sustainability initiatives to ensure environmentally responsible practices already in place. These include closely monitoring and optimising lighting and HVAC levels, striving for a recycling rate of over 50%, and operating a Zero waste-to-landfill policy in the stands and organiser spaces, as well as introducing an innovative mobile application and a whole host of community engagement programmes.
The thousands of anticipated visitors will also be treated to a glimpse of the future of packaging innovation. The first-ever Packaging Startup Awards winners across six categories – alternative materials, connected packaging, increased functionality, online, refill & reuse, and waste reduction - will be announced during a headline session.
From design agencies, brand headliners, and entrepreneurs to workshops with authors and addresses from key industry experts and associations, this year's free-to-attend talks will also be bigger than ever!
Mulberry founder Roger Saul, the man who turned a 21st Birthday present of £500 into one of the 20th century's most iconic British brands, and Entrepreneurs Marisa Poster and Teddie Levenfiche, who created Europe's first matcha green tea-powered energy drink, will no doubt prove huge draws on day 1, while Wellbeing expert Liz Earle, Jamie Laing and Ed Williams, Nestle, WRAP and Plastic Bank representatives on a revamp of the events' usual panel session, 'The big debate'; The Big Question.
PHD Marketing's Managing Director Jo Stephenson will also lead a session titled 'How diversity, equality and inclusion in packaging can be met via design, sustainability and communication strategies, alongside Kamara Hakeem-Oyawoye from The Red Tree and Katie Kubrak from Norvana CPH.
Elsewhere, several businesses are gearing up to make key announcements, including O-I launching an innovation that takes personalised glass packaging to new heights, PG Paper offering one of the first real opportunity to view the new Trucard range on stand A70, and Plastic Bank Founder David Katz will use the London Packaging Week platform to ignite conversations, encourage action, and cultivate a collective commitment to ending plastic pollution and poverty.
"People won't see the incredible work behind the scenes," added Stewart. "Each of our 170 exhibitors is throwing everything at this event and looking to deliver something truly special.
