In a significant stride towards improving its packaging process, an international confectionary manufacturer has successfully installed new palletising equipment, transitioning from traditional cardboard layer sheets to a modern paper solution dispensed from a roll.
This move, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability, came with initial concerns about the potential impact on pallet stability.
To address these concerns, the company collaborated with Lindum, a leader in innovative packaging solutions. Lindum brought its expertise directly to the manufacturer’s UK site in Slough, equipped with a mobile pallet stability test lab to conduct comparative trials between the conventional cardboard sheets and the new Caregrip anti-slip paper.
The trials revealed promising results. The Caregrip anti-slip paper not only matched the performance of the cardboard sheets but also demonstrated an improvement in pallet stability. This advancement is crucial for ensuring the secure transport and storage of products.
Throughout the process, Lindum provided continuous support, ensuring that the new material was specified correctly and trialled effectively. This partnership ensured a smooth transition and successful integration of the Caregrip anti-slip paper into the company’s packaging operations.
The new palletising system, now operational with the Caregrip solution, marks a milestone for the company. It not only addresses their initial pallet stability concerns but also aligns with their broader sustainability goals by reducing the reliance on traditional cardboard.
Rick Sellars, Sales Director at Lindum said: "We are thrilled that the company achieved such positive results with our Caregrip anti-slip paper. This collaboration underscores the importance of innovation and partnership in overcoming industry challenges and enhancing operational efficiency."
As the company continues to roll out its new palletising system, the improved stability and efficiency promise to benefit its logistics and distribution processes, setting a new standard in the industry for sustainable and effective packaging solutions.
