Great British Beef Week is an important date in the meat industry calendar. Last year, the UK produced close to one million tonnes of beef and veal, according to figures quoted by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board. This was up 4% when compared to 2023. 2024 was also a stronger year for UK beef exports, with volumes for January to November up by 8% year-on-year at 132,000 tonnes. Volumes exported to the EU increased, notably into France and the Netherlands.
