Involvement Ltd (trading as Invopak), the UK’s leading packaging container distributor, has announced a major strategic joint venture with Italian manufacturing giant Metalscatola Spa. The partnership has successfully acquired UK-based Falco Packaging Ltd, with the business officially rebranding as Invo Metal Ltd to deliver enhanced supply chain security and technical innovation to the UK industrial metal packaging market.
The acquisition marks a significant milestone for Involvement’s Invopak division, merging over 60 years of advanced Italian manufacturing and design precision with a world-class UK distribution network. By combining these strengths, Invo Metal will provide UK industrial, chemical, and food buyers with direct access to massive manufacturing scale alongside local, agile customer service.
Unlocking Advanced Technical Capabilities
While Invo Metal will continue to manufacture its core range of rectangular tins and lever lids at its established UK production facility, the joint venture injects new technical capabilities into the product line:
- Infinite Colour Print Precision: Plate printing will transition to MetalScatola’s state-of-the-art European facility, featuring six specialised print lines that unlock limitless bespoke branding and decoration options for UK clients.
- Regulatory-Ready Linings: The venture grants UK buyers immediate access to a wider selection of advanced internal lacquers, including BPA-free, phthalate-free, and food-grade linings fully compliant with stringent EU and UK regulations.
- Enhanced Supply Chain Security: Greater ownership across the supply chain, from raw metal processing to final domestic delivery, will help to insulate UK businesses from international transport bottlenecks and component shortages.
Scott Sandilands CRO Invopak, explains the value of the partnership to UK businesses, "This acquisition is a transformative moment for our Invopak division and the wider UK packaging industry. Invo Metal is built on three core pillars: Power, Partnership, and Precision. By uniting Metalscatola's exceptional manufacturing heritage with our deep domestic distribution expertise, we aren't just acquiring assets, we’re building a stronger supply chain that delivers quality, scale, and customer care for UK businesses."
Strategic Alignment with Evolving Regulations
The launch comes at a critical time for UK manufacturers navigating shifting regulatory landscapes, including the transition into the next phases of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and modulated material fees. As a highly recyclable, single-material option, Invo Metal’s expanded tinplate and container portfolio positions B2B buyers to optimise their packaging formats ahead of future environmental taxation.
Operational integration, corporate restructuring, and the brand transition from Falco Packaging to Invo Metal are effective immediately.
