R.WEISS Packaging GmbH & Co. KG will be presenting innovative and highly flexible UNIROB top-loading packaging machines for products of all kinds from the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, chemical, confectionery and bakery sectors as well as for food and non-food at FACHPACK 2024 in Nuremberg from 24 - 26 September 2024
Flexible and sustainable packaging solutions for complex challenges
The UNIROB technology presented by R.WEISS at Fachpack demonstrates an impressive portfolio of high-performance and innovative packaging solutions. Thanks to a modular design, combined with intelligent control technology and lean mechanics, R.WEISS develops extremely efficient and highly flexible packaging systems that can be used for even the most complex challenges. UNIROB technology thus covers the entire end-of-line packaging process.
R.WEISS will be presenting an innovative sub-mixing system with modernised UNIROB technology at Fachpack. This has been completely redesigned and reworked in terms of even more energyefficient and intelligent control technology. R.WEISS thus offers users a contribution to sustainable production. The new, protected info panel and the status light strip are a highlight, as they make it much easier to monitor machine operation and rectify faults. The continuous light bar across the entire line continuously displays the status of each cell using colour visualisation, so that operators have an overview of the current production status at all times.
The UNIROB toploading system allows different varieties or flavours of a product to be individually configured according to a specified or customisable mixing ratio and grouped into point-of-sale cartons using robots in a toploading process. The turnkey packaging system ensures maximum efficiency in logistical processes, as the transport and sales packaging retains its perfect condition thanks to careful handling in the packaging process and can be reused for the point of sale. The ingenious packaging process allows the material resources used to be reused, which is not only sustainable but also results in considerable cost savings, as the mixed cartons take up less space on the shelf compared to single-variety product placements
The products are fed into the UNIROB system on several infeed belts, sorted by type, and grouped by R.WEISS delta robots into corresponding format-based sorting systems. A six-axis robot then inserts the product formats into the original cartons. After filling, the carton is fed to the robot-based lidding module, which places the reused lids on top. Finally, the mixed cartons are placed back onto Euro pallets by a UNIROB palletiser. The UNIROB technology, which functions here as a submixing system, can of course also be used as a classic toploading packaging technology for all other industries mentioned above
Highly flexible vehicle systems made from modular components - AGV omnidirectional
The company Bleichert complements the R.WEISS portfolio with a driverless transport system with omnidirectional driving mode. This enables driving in small spaces through free navigation, which is made possible by the angle-independent adjustability of the wheels. It is capable of transporting up to 2,000kg and can be combined with an attached conveyor system such as a roller conveyor. There is also the option of customised application, with further navigation and energy options available. The vehicle can travel up to 1.5 metres per second and has a positioning accuracy of ±10mm.
