Leading aluminium tray manufacturer i2r Packaging Solutions has partnered with Azzurri Group to supply premium food service containers for its ASK Italian restaurant chain. Made from 100% recyclable aluminium, i2r’s food service containers are a practical and sustainable solution for high-temperature food products in the takeaway and delivery sectors.
ASK has been using i2r’s 1000ml plain silver aluminium containers and lids (AS-221000 & PL-221000) from the company’s premium range. Designed for oven-ready applications and excellent heat retention, the containers are used for ASK’s popular oven-baked pasta dishes, including lasagne, ensuring customers receive a consistent, high-quality experience when ordering takeaway.
“The new foil container allows us to align the baking process with how we cook our lasagne in the restaurant, ensuring consistency and quality for our customers. They also help with heat retention, which is really important for our takeaway offer,” said Katie Lawson, supply chain manager at Azzurri Group.
“The restaurant teams find that the product helps them operationally as they can cook the dish in the foil container rather than decant it into the takeaway container once it is cooked. i2r is easy to work with and is always happy to support us with new projects. The team are very responsive and will always go above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service.”
ASK previously used a round paper bowl with a plastic lid. The transition to i2r’s aluminium containers marks a step up in both performance and sustainability. i2r’s foil packaging offers full recyclability and robust protection for hot food products.
Michael Goor, head of account management at i2r, added: “We’re delighted to support the Azzurri Group and ASK Italian with our premium food service containers. These packs are specifically designed to offer operational ease and optimum food quality - perfect for dishes like lasagne that benefit from in-pack cooking. It’s great to see how the change has made a positive difference to the restaurant teams and customer satisfaction.”
