i2r North America Inc., has achieved an EcoVadis Platinum Medal, placing the aluminum packaging manufacturer among the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the 12 months prior to the medal issue date. The recognition marks a significant milestone for the business and reflects its ongoing commitment to sustainability, responsible sourcing, operational transparency and continuous improvement across its North American operations. i2r’s EcoVadis Platinum Medal is valid through July 2027.
EcoVadis is globally recognized for its business sustainability ratings and assesses organizations across four key areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Its methodology draws on international sustainability standards and evaluates the quality of a company’s sustainability management system through its policies, actions and reporting, providing businesses and their customers with an independent measure of sustainability performance.
As part of the wider i2r Packaging Solutions business, i2r North America manufactures aluminum food packaging for customers across the North American market. Its approach combines the inherent recyclability of aluminum with a continued focus on resource efficiency, waste reduction, responsible sourcing and efficient manufacturing, while supporting food manufacturers and processors with packaging solutions designed to deliver both performance and convenience.
Mark D’Angelo, i2r’s North American managing director, said: “Achieving an EcoVadis Platinum Medal is a fantastic recognition for everyone across our North American business and reflects the commitment our team has shown to continually improving the way we operate. Sustainability expectations are increasing throughout the food and packaging supply chain, and our customers quite rightly want greater transparency around the businesses they work with.
“Independent assessments such as EcoVadis give them further confidence in the standards, processes and responsible practices behind the packaging we supply. To be placed among the top 1% of companies assessed is something we are extremely proud of, but it doesn’t mean the job is finished. We will continue looking for ways to improve our environmental performance, strengthen responsible sourcing and make sustainability an integral part of how we grow the business.”
i2r North America Inc. will be exhibiting at Booth W-53084 at PACK EXPO International 2026, taking place at McCormick Place, Chicago, from October 18-21.
