Leading full-service packaging supplier Hunter Luxury has partnered with retail giant NEXT to create two limited-edition beauty advent calendars for the festive season.
After collaborating with NEXT on its 2024 beauty calendars, this year Hunter Luxury led on the structural and graphic design of the 2025 line from the initial concept stage through to production. The two final products, called The Luxury Beauty Advent and 25 Days of Beauty Advent, represent a remarkable demonstration of Hunter Luxury’s capabilities and expertise.
The Luxury Beauty Advent calendar is a hinged box featuring a traditional ice rink scene, finished with UV gloss varnish and delicate embossed gold foiling. The 25 Days of Beauty Advent, meanwhile, uses a chocolate box-style design with a ribbon tie. It carries a more minimalist look, using spot UV varnish, embossing, and foiled typography to create a festive pink and gold aesthetic that combines tradition with modernity. Both calendars contain 25 beauty products inside individual printed cartons with gold foiled numbers that consumers can unbox every day through the festive period.
Paul Hamilton, Head of Sales and Marketing at Hunter Luxury, was delighted at the way the Hunter Team rose to the technical challenges posed by the project. “The NEXT beauty advent calendar is an icon of the festive season – its release is as hotly anticipated as the big day itself for many people,” he explained. “To have the opportunity to not only work with the team at NEXT, but to lead the process from concept to execution was an early Christmas treat for us.
“Every detail reveals the amount of thought and care that the team poured into this project. But what I’m most proud of is the way this project so clearly demonstrates our partnership with the client. We don’t just act as a supplier – our customer tells us what they want, and we deliver. It’s a collaborative process, and that trusting relationship is what makes projects like this so rewarding.”
Both calendars feature rigid box elements that are recyclable thanks to the strategic use of gold foiling. However, they are also designed to be collectable keepsakes that consumers can use as a festive vanity case or storage solution long after their contents are gone.
In 2024, Hunter Luxury produced a giant Christmas cracker containing beauty products alongside a more traditional chest-style advent calendar that opened to reveal a wintry village scene. After proving to be a hit with consumers and retailers last year, news on this year’s calendar has been eagerly awaited.
