Leading UK manufacturer of wet wipes and liquid-filled sachets, Guardpack, has announced the installation of a new, state-of-the-art production machine, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing investment in innovation, quality, and operational efficiency.
The custom-built machine has been designed specifically to meet Guardpack’s requirements and introduces a range of advanced features that enhance both production capacity and flexibility. Equipped with dual pumps and dual tissue feeds, the system is expected to increase overall output by approximately 20%, enabling the company to better meet growing customer demand.
The new equipment supports the production of both sachets and sachet wipes, while also enabling new product formats such as perforated sachets, varied tissue and liquid combinations, and expanded size and folding options. This increased versatility will allow Guardpack to offer more tailored solutions to its customers across multiple sectors.
Importantly, the investment also strengthens Guardpack’s ISO 13485 medical manufacturing capabilities. The machine is fully aligned with the stringent requirements of this internationally recognised standard, supporting the production of high-quality, compliant products for regulated markets.
In addition to boosting capacity, the machine incorporates the latest technology in control systems, laminate handling, and automated conveyor and counting processes. These enhancements improve product consistency and overall quality, reinforcing Guardpack’s reputation for reliability and precision.
James Tucker, General Manager at Guardpack says: “This new system will be instrumental in expanding our overall production capability. We expect to reduce lead times, increase responsiveness, and provide our customers with faster delivery and greater flexibility. We’re really excited about this new addition to the factory.”
While energy consumption remains similar to previous equipment, the significantly higher output means the machine is more energy efficient overall, producing more units per unit of power used. This aligns with Guardpack’s broader commitment to improving operational efficiency and sustainability.
This latest investment reflects Guardpack’s dedication to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to its customers. By further enhancing its manufacturing capabilities, the company is well positioned to support future growth and meet the evolving needs of the market.
