LIVEKINDLY Collective brands Fry’s Family Food and Oumph! are finalists in the Best Plant-based Packaging category in the World Plant-based Awards.
The winners will be announced on September 8, at Plant Based World Expo North America in New York.
Fry’s Stars & Moons
Tammy Fry, co-founder of Fry’s and Global Brand Lead says:
“Our new Stars & Moons are really cool plant-based chicken ‘nugget’ shapes that we developed to inspire more families to explore plant-based versions of their favourite foods. We are thrilled with this nomination. This packaging is clever, quirky and engaging, and we are really proud of it. The interactive box was designed to be tactile and create engagement with kids of all ages. A throw-back to the days when we used to ‘read’ our cereal boxes at the kitchen table, Stars & Moons offers the wonderfully inspiring story of our inter-galactic superhero, Charlie the Chicken and his adventures to save the world. Kids are encouraged to build their own spaceship for Charlie using the gorgeous rocket cut-out printed on the box. The design is fresh and on trend and has a noticeable presence on shelf. The boxes and plastic inners are also made from fully recyclable materials.”
Oumph!’s new packaging range
Linda Arnason, Global Brand Manager at Oumph! says:
“It’s really nice receive this recognition for our new packaging. Oumph! is a progressive choice and we wanted the packaging to match that. With our new recyclable packaging the aim is to further further limit our environmental impact. There are certain challenges in creating a more sustainable packaging for frozen food, and we are pleased to announce that we’ve found a solution with recyclable cardboard packaging. Not only is it better for the environment, but we’re also receiving positive feedback from retailers because the packaging is easy to stack, and requires less freezer space.”
The new Oumph! packaging is available in all markets where Oumph! is available: Sweden and the Nordics, UK, Australia, the Netherlands and South Africa.
Oumph and Fry’s are both brands of LIVEKINDLY Collective, a collection of plant-based food brands offering sustainable food options to consumers across 40+ markets. Both Oumph! and Fry’s announced the move to sustainable packaging already with more LIVEKINDLY Collective brands following in their footsteps.
