From October 6, SÜDPACK Medica will showcase a range of high-performance packaging solutions for the global medical, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical industries at booth 11K25 at CPHI Worldwide in Milan. The film manufacturer will place particular emphasis on its latest product innovations, which combine high quality and functionality to ensure maximum packaging reliability and patient safety.

Safety for today, solutions for tomorrow
PharmaGuard®, the blister packaging concept that has already won over major pharmaceutical manufacturers and received four industry awards since its market launch, is just one of SÜDPACK Medica’s pioneering products. The PP-based blister films for solid oral dosage forms are free from phthalates, vinyl, PFAS, and halogens and offer an excellent water vapor barrier, outstanding push-through performance, and reliable processability on standard packaging machines. Compared with aluminum- and PET-based laminates, they have a significantly lower climate impact according to a Sphera life cycle assessment verified in accordance with ISO 14040/44 – partly because their high PP content means they can be directed into existing recycling streams.
In addition, SÜDPACK Medica offers a broad portfolio of integrated packaging systems from a single source for medical, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical applications in the healthcare sector. Its robust rigid and flexible films, standardized and customized pouch concepts, and lidding systems made from plastics and medical-grade papers can be produced under controlled clean room conditions as required. These solutions provide maximum product protection, stability, and sterility throughout the process chain. They can also be equipped with specific barrier properties and opening aids and are designed for highly automated processes.

To ensure seamless system compatibility, SÜDPACK Medica works closely with selected suppliers of paper and lidding materials as well as leading packaging machine manufacturers. This collaboration allows sealing performance and opening behavior to be precisely configured, tested, and optimized for the equipment platforms used in industrial packaging production.
Furthermore, thanks to its extensive in-house laboratory facilities, SÜDPACK Medica can precisely measure mechanical, thermal and functional film properties, supporting customer-specific requirements and validation processes.
At its technical center in Ochsenhausen, SÜDPACK Medica also offers sealing tests with MedGuard films in combination with various lidding materials. The trials enable a targeted evaluation of sealing ranges, peel performance and process robustness, supporting packaging development ahead of commercial scale-up. Where required, SÜDPACK Medica also coordinates joint optimization tests with customers and their machine suppliers.
