Fresh-Lock® closures, a leading brand in reclosable flexible packaging technology, will showcase purposeful advances in zipper and slider solutions at PACK EXPO International, October 18-21 in Chicago. Attendees are invited to visit the Fresh-Lock team at booth S-3907 to explore pouch closures created to help brands respond to key trends currently shaping the flexible packaging industry.
“As brands navigate the changing packaging landscape and evolving state EPR requirements, they are facing increased pressure to transition their packaging portfolios toward more compliant solutions,” said Todd Meussling, Fresh-Lock® Director of Business Development and Sustainability. “For reclosable flexible packaging, the right closure can support these changes while maintaining the functionality and convenience that consumers expect. We’re excited to showcase options that help brands bring more sustainable, functional, and user-friendly packaging to market.”
Post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials play an important role in advancing source-reduction targets in state legislation required under EPR legislation. To help brands and packagers advance their recycled-content goals, the Fresh-Lock team will highlight a variety of closures with at least 25% PCR content. These closures are designed to help brands integrate recycled materials back into the packaging lifecycle, reduce waste, and extend the useful life of existing materials. Suitable for a wide range of packaging needs, the portfolio of PCR closures includes options for recyclable PE pouches, high-holding force applications, pre-applied zipper formats, and premium slider packages, giving brands multiple ways to incorporate recycled content and meet their packaging goals.
Additionally, in response to increased demand for curbside recyclable options and plastic reduction, paper-based flexible packaging has emerged as a leading solution. The Fresh-Lock team is developing press-to-close zippers that can be sealed to emerging paper pouch structures, allowing brands to offer the convenience of reclosability in a paper-based format.
The Fresh-Lock® portfolio of closures also includes fully recyclable, reduced scale sliders. The next generation Ultra slider is a premium closure designed to balance sustainability, convenience, and performance. Its intuitive design enhances user experience while providing reliable reclosability for a variety of pouch applications.
For applications that can benefit from child-resistance but enjoy the lightweight, sustainable nature of flexible packaging, the Fresh-Lock team will also showcase Child-Guard® Edge. Its streamlined profile makes it versatile for a variety of pouch sizes and high unit count applications. Child-Guard® Edge provides child-resistant functionality for medications, vitamins, supplements, and similar products that should be kept out of reach from small children.
