TekniPlex Consumer Products, a globally integrated provider of innovative solutions through materials science and manufacturing technologies, will exhibit a variety of product protection solutions that demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and performance at FachPack 2025, September 23-25 in Nuremberg, Germany. In particular, at Hall 5, Booth #208, the company will emphasize its ProTecSeals® portfolio of recyclable container liners.
TekniPlex Consumer Products’ ProTecSeals® series comprises sealing and lining solutions designed for recyclability, depending on material type and regional recycling streams. These solutions enable brands to adopt diverse strategies for enhancing recycling acceptance and improving overall sustainability.Suitable for a wide range of bottles and jars, most ProTecSeals® solutions are ideal for packaging personal care products, vitamins, supplements and protein powders, as well as food and beverages.
One ProTecSeals® series standout is theePressSealliner, the first pressure-sensitive seal utilizing expanded polyethylene (EPE). ePressSealis more flexible and resilient than conventional polystyrene (PS) foam, offering greater resistance to compression and better maintaining its shape to provide longer lasting gasketing properties. Lightweight and easy to remove, the liners are suitable for dry foods, herbs and spices, and nutritional supplements.
ePressSeal is recyclable in regions where the polyethylene (PE) recycling stream is available, making it more widely recyclable than PS. Notably, PS is singled out by the European Union’s directive on single-use plastics, with some major member nations looking to ban it from packaging in the near future.
Several ProTecSeals® solutions have been approved by RecyClass, an EU-based organization dedicated to facilitating the transition toward a circular plastic future. One example is a polyethylene (PE) version, the ProTecSeals®TriSeal F217, which is recyclable in the HDPErecycling stream. That liner is designed to be utilized in concert with PE closures and containers, while a polypropylene version, ProTecSeals® PP Foam, aligns with PP closures and containers. As a result, both help make an entire packagerecyclable– an attractive mono-material differentiator for both near-term sustainability goals and longer-term EU regulatory compliance.
Crucially, ProTecSeals® liners do not sacrifice pristine functionality for sustainability. To ensure exemplary softness, compression and leak performance standards, TekniPlex Consumer Products utilizes proprietary technology that delivers protective and ease-of-use properties on par with conventional, less sustainable liner options.
“Like so many of our solutions, the ProTecSeals® portfolio is inspired by TekniPlex’s‘Sustainability And’ philosophy, whichchallenges us to prioritize both product performance and eco-friendliness,” said Rafael Posada, GlobalHead - Sustainability and Product Stewardship for TekniPlex. “In addition to reducing environmental impact, meeting changing consumer demands, and complying with stricter regulations, elements like more recyclable materials, components derived from PCR, reduced product waste and lightweighting also can lead to cost savings, enhanced brand image, better conservation of resources, and a competitive edge for brands. Combined with our deep expertise in materials science, our commitment to sustainable initiatives helps us truly stand out in the container liners market.”
