VPK Packaging UK & Ireland, part of VPK Group, is continuing its support for Desborough Town Football Club as part of its commitment to building strong links with the communities surrounding its UK operations.
The partnership sees the club’s ground continue to be known as the VPK Stadium and reflects VPK’s ongoing relationship with the town where the business has a significant operational presence.
Desborough Town FC is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year and recently secured promotion to the United Counties League Premier Division South. The club is also planning improvement work around the entrance to the ground, with opportunities being explored for VPK employees to support practical activity at the stadium later in the year.
For VPK Packaging, the relationship with Desborough Town FC is part of a wider approach to responsible business. As a family-owned packaging group with a long-term outlook, VPK places importance on supporting local communities, encouraging employee involvement and creating value beyond its manufacturing operations.
The company’s Desborough site plays an important role within VPK Packaging’s UK network, supporting customers with corrugated packaging solutions designed around product protection, supply chain efficiency and practical operational performance.
Adam Platts, Sales & Marketing Director at VPK Packaging, said: “At VPK Packaging, we believe that being part of a local community means more than operating from a site. It means building relationships, supporting local organisations and finding practical ways to contribute.
“Desborough Town Football Club has a proud history and plays an important role in the town. We are pleased to continue our partnership with the club at such a significant moment, as it celebrates 130 years and builds on promotion to the United Counties League Premier Division South.”
Kris Malde, Sponsorship and Marketing Director at Desborough Town Football Club, said: “The support we receive from VPK is hugely valued by everyone at Desborough Town Football Club. Having the ground known as the VPK Stadium gives the partnership real visibility, but the relationship goes beyond the name.
“As we celebrate 130 years, move into a higher division and continue improving the ground, support from local partners is vital. We are grateful to VPK for its continued commitment and look forward to working together as the club enters this next stage.”
The partnership also underlines VPK Packaging’s focus on long-term relationships, whether with customers, colleagues or local communities.
Through continued investment, local employment and support for community organisations, VPK aims to contribute positively to the areas in which it operates while delivering sustainable corrugated packaging solutions for customers across the UK and Ireland.
