Labels Printed on Paper Substrates: Khazan Gourmet Sliced Roast Beef
The bold and vibrant Khazan Gourmet Sliced Roast Beef labels, expertly printed at Coveris Spalding – Coveris’ centre of excellence for linerless labelling – showcase exceptional print quality and flexographic excellence.
Combining well-balanced process elements with Coveris’ six colour print and technical expertise, a striking and bold label with stunning vibrant pops of colour was created. Judges noted “A favourite of the judges in a really difficult category. The overall print quality and prepress made this the right choice.”
Environmentally Sustainable Company - Production: Coveris for ReCover
Coveris’ dedication towards building a circular economy was recognised at the FlexoTech Awards as it was awarded Environmentally Sustainable Company – Production, for its pioneering de-inking and recycling facility, ReCover Louth.
Opened in May 2023, ReCover Louth uses groundbreaking de-inking technology as part of the recycling process. At the facility, ink is removed from printed film packaging waste, which is then regranulated into high-quality resin, ReGen, used in Coveris’ packaging film production and is complaint with the UK Plastic Packaging Tax.
The opening of ReCover Louth has achieved significant environmental benefits by extending the lifecycle of printed PE packaging film post-industrial waste (PIW) which was previously downcycled, increasing recycling capacity, improving the availability of quality recycled resin, reducing reliance on virgin raw material, and keeping plastic as part of a circular loop.
Best Environmentally Improved Job: Tissue Overwrap with ReGen
Coveris’ lightweight and recyclable tissue overwrap packaging with ReGen recycled content was awarded ‘Best Environmentally Improved Job’. Leading the development of sustainable tissue overwrap films, this solution showcases how Coveris is advancing circular plastic use in the industry through its pioneering ReCover Louth facility and material innovation. This award-winning solution represents a significant advancement in reducing plastic waste while maintaining high performance in packaging.
