CHEP, a global leader in supply chain solutions, and its long-standing innovation partner in sustainable pallets and large containers manufacturer Cabka, are proud to announce that the CHEP FalConic Sleeve Pack Container (SPC) has received the prestigious Red Dot Award in two categories:
- Best Design – Industrial Packaging (Transportation)
- Most Sustainable Design – Industrial Design
The award was announced ahead of the official ceremony to be held in Essen, Germany, on July 8. This marks the second consecutive year that CHEP and Cabka have been recognised by the Red Dot jury, following last year’s award for the CHEP ZirConic® Container. The continued recognition underlines the strategic role that product innovation and sustainability play in CHEP’s value proposition and commitment to building regenerative supply chains.
“The FalConic Sleeve containers are ecologically well thought out from production to recycling and are a convincing part of a regenerative supply chain”, said the Red Dot Award jury.
A new standard in reusable packaging for light and medium-weight goods
Launched at FachPack 2024, one of Europe’s leading packaging trade fairs, the FalConic SPC is the latest innovation from CHEP’s Pallecon division. Specifically designed to replace single-use transport packaging, it offers a foldable, ergonomic, and reusable solution for the handling and transportation of light and medium-weight dry goods across industries such as packaging, co-packing, and e-commerce.
Made from 80%+ post-consumer recycled material, the new FalConic SPC combines outstanding performance and circularity. It features innovative sleeve, lid and drop locking mechanisms that eliminate the need for hook-and-loop fasteners and stretch wrap, as well as a modular design for increased adaptability, and IoT capabilities that enhance traceability and customer insights. These features collectively improve operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and help businesses meet the requirements of the upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
“Winning a Red Dot Award is already a major distinction to enhance the credentials for sustainable innovation design of the new FalConic SPC—but winning it two years in a row, including the new meta-category for sustainable industrial packaging, is a powerful validation of our innovation journey and the transformation of our products and services to take supply chain regeneration to the next level”, said Daniel López Urán, Global Head of Disruptive Innovation at Brambles. “The FalConic container is the result of an ambitious collaboration programme with our customers and our development partner Cabka, blending insight-driven proprietary design features with sustainability and circularity from design as the main drivers. We are proud to help our customers transition from linear to circular supply chains through practical, ergonomical, scalable solutions.”
Ignacio Castellanos, VP Pooling and System Integrations from Cabka, added: “These awards reflect our shared ambition with CHEP to raise the bar for sustainable transport packaging. The FalConic Sleeve Pack Container exemplifies what can be achieved when material science, design excellence, and circularity come together. We are proud of our continued collaboration and the impact it’s creating across industries.”
A growing portfolio of award-winning circular solutions
The FalConic Sleeve Pack Container joins the CHEP ZirConic Container—launched in 2023 and winner of the same award last year—as part of CHEP’s expanding portfolio of next-generation reusable transport packaging (RTP).
While the FalConic SPC is optimised for light and medium-weight dry cargo, the ZirConic Container is tailored for heavy-duty applications, with both designed to support a more efficient, connected, and sustainable supply chain.
