In recent years, COLINES® has consistently broken new ground in the production of Cast MDO-PE films, a critical innovation in flexible packaging. Three years ago at the K Show in Düsseldorf marked a significant turning point, with the official launch of fully mono-material stand-up pouches, entirely PE-based through the innovative lamination of Cast MDO-PE film and Cast PE film. Even more remarkable was the introduction of mono-film solutions, fully enhancing Cast MDO-PE’s advantages as it provides an efficient sealing side combined with an exceptional high-quality print-side, featuring outstanding optical properties such as clarity (low haze) and gloss.
Mono-oriented PE film has been traditionally produced through blown extrusion technology. However, COLINES' R&D trials have demonstrated that Cast MDO-PE is significantly better than traditional methods. With its exceptional versatility, Cast MDO-PE effectively meets current market demands, positioning itself as a true game-changer. Today, Cast MDO-PE is ready to replace traditional materials such as BOPET and laminated films, offering full recyclability and enabling significant downgauging.
Over the past two years, COLINES® has further enhanced this already unrivalled process, optimizing Cast MDO-PE production through its patented calendering system. This revolutionary technology strongly reduces energy consumption by exploiting latent heat of fusion. Also, it cuts down on start-up times, and dramatically reduces scraps, which boosts efficiency and sustainability.
The upcoming K Show will be the perfect event for COLINES® to unveil these latest technological developments. Visitors will also witness first-hand innovative products uniquely designed to redefine flexible packaging standards.
