Bormioli Pharma, international leader in pharmaceutical packaging and medical devices, has been awarded the “Gold Medal” in EcoVadis scorecard monitoring corporate developments about ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) topics.
This recognition is given to those companies joining the top 5% of all EcoVadis evaluated businesses, based on several parameters related to the following categories: Environment, Workplace Practices & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Purchases.
Bormioli Pharma achieved a total scorecard of 76/100, with enhanced performances in Environment (90/100), Workplace Practices & Human Rights (80/100) and Ethics (70/100).

In terms of sustainability targets, Bormioli Pharma is committed in the 30% Carbon Intensity reduction and in 41% reduction of Water Withdrawal Intensity by 2030 (compared to the 2021 baseline), as well as in reaching the 50% share of sustainable materials in sold products by 2025, an objective which the company is well on track to achieve with a 47% in the first half of 2024.
The company is also taking concrete steps on the Governance point of view, with the implementation of robust processes contained in the corporate ESG Policy, as well as the will to build a more responsible supply chain, setting as an objective the the assessment of 90% of suppliers on the international EcoVadis platform by 2026.
